POST-DOCTORAL TRAINING POSITION:  FUNCTIONAL NEUROIMAGING OF MEMORY DISORDERS AND AGING

There are typically 2-3 post-docs in the lab. These positions are ideally suited for candidates wishing to integrate cutting edge brain imaging with traditional and experimental neuropsychological evaluation. Scientific emphasis is placed on researching the neural and psychological processes that influence learning and recollection—and accurate awareness of this deficit—in people with memory disorders. Imaging investigations rely on the University of Wisconsin’s vast resources and include 3.0 Tesla fMRI, quantitative MRI, DTI, perfusion and PET glucose metabolism and amyloid imaging studies. The primary subject populations are persons with genetic and/or cognitive risk for Alzheimer’s Disease, persons with early dementia, and survivors of traumatic brain injury.  Research training opportunities include designing and conducting fMRI studies, learning image data analysis methods, integrating neuropsychological and imaging results, and writing manuscripts for publication. The fellow will contribute to ongoing federally funded fMRI studies as well as develop his/her own mentored research projects. The fellow will interact with several collaborators around campus including faculty in Psychology, Medical Physics, Geriatrics, Neuroradiology, Neurology and Neuropathology. A doctoral degree from an accredited University is necessary. Applicants with clinical neuropsychological training/interests are especially encouraged to apply. Experience with functional or structural neuroimaging is preferred.

To apply for this position please send (preferably by email) a letter of interest/statement of career goals, curriculum-vita, work samples (e.g. sample reports and reprints), and two letters of reference to:
