R01 AG027161 - Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer Prevention: Biomarkers of Preclinical AD
4/1/07 – 3/31/2012 NIH/NIA
Role: CoInvestigator
Aims: To examine longitudinal rate of change in people at risk for AD. Outcomes include cognition and biomarkers such as structural and functional MRI.
VA Merit Review (S. Johnson) 4/1/07 – 3/31/11
Title: Awareness of Deficit after Combat-related Brain Injury
Department of Veterans Affairs
Role: PI
Aims: To evaluate neural substrates of accurate self appraisal in patients with frontal lobe brain injury.
R01 AG021155-03 (S. Johnson)10/1/04—9/30/09
NIH/NIA
Title: fMRI of Vulnerable Brain Regions in People at Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease
Role: PI
Aims: To examine the hippocampal response to fMRI probes of learning and retrieval in MCI and persons with family history of AD.
VA MERIT (S. Johnson) 10/01/04 — 9/30/08
Department of Veterans Affairs
Title: Posterior Cingulate Function in Persons at Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease
Role: PI
Aims: to model task dependent functional connectivity in the posterior cingulate in order to determine its role in retrieval and its functional connections to other retrieval areas of the brain. Persons with and without retrieval impairment will be studied as well as persons with and without genetic risk of AD. Both are known to affect PC activation.
NIA Neuroimaging Initiative 10/1/04 – 9/30/09
NIH/NIA
Title: Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative
Role: Site CoPI
Aims: A multi-site three-year brain imaging observational study of persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment or Alzheimer’s Disease.
P01 AG11915-10 (R. Weindruch) 5/01/06 — 1/31/11
NIA
Title: Dietary Restriction and Aging in Rhesus Monkeys
Project 4: Brain Structure and Function (S. Johnson project leader)
Aims: The goals of project 4 are to determine whether there are structural and cognitive changes in the brain due to long-term dietary restriction, and to determine whether age-related decline is attenuated by dietary restriction.
Foundation grant (S. Johnson) 7/1/06—6/30/08
Anonymous Private Foundation
Title: Amyloid Imaging in People at Risk for Alzheimer Disease
Role: PI
Aims: To conduct PET studies of amyloid deposition (using PIB), glucose metabolism and perfusion and MRI studies of perfusion in people at risk for AD.
